Our Neighbor Care Move-In Team prepares new and previously occupied homes for new neighbors to move into and begin recovering from life on the streets of Austin TX. As a Furniture Prep volunteer, you would work alongside our Neighbor Contractors to empty and deep clean units after move-outs, deliver and assemble furniture in unoccupied homes, help keep our furniture storage spaces clean and organized, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. This opportunity includes heavy lifting, regular and repeated exposure to the elements, tons of elbow grease, and a desire to get to know our great neighbors. If you want to be where the rubber meets the road, and help turn houses into homes for our brothers and sisters on the streets, this is the volunteer job for you!

Ages: 12+ with a parent/guardian. All volunteers under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian while serving at the Village. 

Recommended Attire: closed toed shoes, long pants, work gloves, hat/head covering, sunblock, reusable water bottle
