The Gathering is a 501c(3) faith-based non-profit that supports the mission, vision and values of Mobile Loaves & Fishes at Community First! Village. Our mission is to help imperfect people find and follow Christ. Our vision is to empower the missionally minded into a lifestyle of following Christ alongside the formerly homeless at Community First! Village and beyond.  

Volunteers are the heart of our mission. We welcome small groups, large groups, families, students and individuals to help us build a Christ-centered mission. You can learn more about The Gathering on our website.

This role involves providing dinner for all of the folks who attend and are part of The Gathering. This volunteer opportunity is geared for you to invite and involve a small group to assist in preparing and serving the meal, so when you sign up, make sure to add the number of additional volunteers you are bringing with you in your group. Our attendance varies from week to week, however, we aim to be a ministry of abundance and ask volunteers to provide an easy to serve meal for approximately 50-60 people. Please bring all serving utensils, including paper goods, plastic ware, napkins and “to go” containers for leftovers as we do not have access to a kitchen facility. Neighbors at Community First! always appreciate hot or cold side dishes and dessert as a bonus. The Gathering supplies 8 oz. waters. Easy to serve group meal ideas: pizza, sandwiches, casseroles, soup, etc. 

The Gathering meets outdoors at Unity Hall.  

COVID-19 SAFETY: Mobile Loaves & Fishes does not currently require the use of a face mask at the Village.

All volunteers under 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian while serving at the village.
