Community Market Clerk
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE 21 OR OLDER.
Come be the joyful face that greets residents, volunteers and visitors at the Community Market! The Market serves our community by offering an abundance of snacks, drinks and frozen treats, as well as showcasing the beautiful, handcrafted goods made by our residents; all the profits from neighbor-made sales go directly to the artist, helping them to earn a dignified income. As a Market Volunteer, you’ll be a friend to our residents who frequent the store and an educator to visitors who want to learn more about Community First! Village. Your #1 responsibility is to be relational with anyone who walks through our doors, but your duties will also include…
– Opening and/or closing the market
– Running the cash register and helping neighbors check out with their groceries
– Re-stocking the shelves and keeping the market tidy
– Counting and handling cash
This opportunity is ideal for anyone looking to be part of Community First! Village in a more consistent, recurring volunteer role. Your first few shifts will be considered on-the-job training, so come prepared to learn and get to know our community!
Due to the training and consistency required for this volunteer job, it is not available for those needing to fulfill required community service hours. If you have questions, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at serve@mlf.org.
Number of Volunteers: 2 per shift (4 per day)
Parking is available in the lot just past the entrance to Community First! Village. After parking, you may go directly to the Community Market to check in for your shift.
Note: By signing up to volunteer, you are agreeing to Mobile Loaves & Fishes running a background check and the terms and conditions of the Mobile Loaves & Fishes Volunteer Agreement.
